VISIT FOR COMPASSION
An interaction with those in
children’s homes, shelters, old age homes widens our thinking horizons and
helps our members become more compassionate and understand the plight of the
lesser privileged people in our society. This year, Leaders for Tomorrow connected
with thousands of such people by visiting 60 NGOs
MEET THE LEADER
Meet the
Leader Programme enables students to interact with senior leaders from various
walks of life, from corporates to the civil society. This offers a platform for
the youth to learn from the richness of their experience and depth of their
knowledge. Our youth leadership has met and interacted with the Defence Minister,
The Principal Secretary to the PM and Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam as a part of this
programme.
BE THE LEADER
At LFT we
believe that leadership is all about inspiring others to work towards a common
goal. Through this programme, our
members promoted the social spirit among youth, motivating 2000 college
students to pledge regular time and effort towards social change. This
serves as an opportunity for the youth to improve their oratory and management
skills while learning the basics of leadership and team building.
SKILLS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME
Every week,
we conduct Personality Development Programmes focusing on enhancing the soft
skills of the students on campus through activity-based training programmes.
These help students improve upon their self confidence, communication and
interpersonal skills which we believe will go a long way in their future as
successful professionals. This year, we
reached out to 1850 college students through 120 peer trainers groomed by our
leadership.
COLLECTION
DRIVES
Every year
Leaders for Tomorrow conducts a collection drives at the onset of winter as an
initiative to bridge the gap between the haves and the have nots. Through this
initiative LFT collects winter clothes and books for children. Our
volunteers and members helped build libraries in 50 NGOs across Delhi with the
books collected as a part of this programme, and donated clothes to nearly 2000
people this winter.
TRAINING PROGRAMMES
This year we
conducted four training programmes focusing on Leadership and social
development, Leadership in Business Development, Development Journalism and the
overall personality development. This year 250 leaders from our college clubs
were trained by corporate trainers and experts such as the former Vice
Chancellor of Delhi University, IAS Officers, Bureaucrats, Journalists and
social activists.
BLOGS ON
SOCIAL ISSUES
We encourage
our members and volunteers to write about social issues that are close to their
heart while also sharing their experiences combating the same. In an attempt to
build up a pool of ideas, views and opinions of the youth on various social
issues, we gathered 1100 blogs by students active in the various LFT Clubs.
DOCUMENTARY
SCREENINGS
Leaders for
Tomorrow organises screenings of documentaries on socially relevant issues made
by award winning film makers. Ranging from issues related to the environment to
women empowerment, nearly 20 prominent documentaries were showcased in colleges
this year.
