Youth Exchange Program

I had a very good experience with YEP in Lucknow. Firstly, as there is no such society or community there, so people don't get a chance to come forward and do something. They wait for such events to take place so they can contribute their bit to the world. Students there don't have a concept of working for something beyond the various Arts like dance, music, etc. i was really keen to host this in Lucknow. Personally I am a very soft-spoken person, so when i went out to talk to people- the Principles, Secretary, students, acquaintances, i was very nervous. i started with talking to the Principle of Awadh Degree Girls College first, then the Secretary there. I gained some confidence after realising that i wasn't doing that bad a job after all. Then we talked to the students there, it was fun actually :). The people there enjoyed every bit of all the activities they participated in, especially CLEANATHON, because the place that we had selected for this event, is a very centrally located place in Lucknow. They had never thought that they would do something like CLEANATHON that road. It was fun! It wasn't a very hard task to manage the participants. The most challenging part I feel, was to talk them into participating in this. Nobody does all this in their daily routines and hence, at first they weren't very keen. But as it gained momentum, they couldn't help but feel good about being a part of it. It was just my first time of doing something like this, so i wasn't very good with the managing bit, but i hope to improve and do much better the next time! I want to commend Yasar for his patience and thank him for all the help and assistance. He was always just a message or a call away! Its was great working with you guys ! :) And Surbhi was a great delegate. We both enjoyed working together. She was always very supportive and was of great help whenever we got stuck in some situation. I hope she liked the places we visited and had a comfortable stay :)All in all it was a great experience, i got a chance to learn so much, which i wouldn't have been able to otherwise. I'm happy to have joined LFT.

Experience at LFT

It was really nice to work as LFT representative in Roorkee. I have learned so many new things through this program and used my semester break in a better way. When i joined LFT in my college, my motive was to enhance my communication skills and under this program I had to visit different organisation, meet people of different age groups- juniors, senior and my peers. So I learnt how to work with different people.
Under this program we have to search for event venues , so it had  also increased my geographical knowledge about my home town. Besides this I got to know so many new friends from different colleges and it also improved my management skills, as being a host, I have to manage the events. I have read it on LFT wall that " The only training for leadership is leadership" and I had learnt it practically through this program.
I would also like to mention about our events. All the three event were luckily on such nice dates i.e. ADAPT on x-mas, Cleanathon on new year’s eve and both these  events made these two special days memorable for me and also lengthened my 2011"s "good task list".
The last event was "Visit for Compassion". I started my new year with this event. It was the first time I visited a place like this. We got the opportunity of being guest for their new year assembly and asked about themselves, answered their queries. Through this visit l learned how to live happily even if you are not as lucky as others. Hence it was a really great experience for me.
I really feel happy when people appreciate me for these events and say " tum to bahut acha kaam kr rahe ho".
YEP was really nice program for me.  I enjoyed it alot  and feel proud to be a part of it.
I thank LFT for introducing me to such a nice program.

Leaders for Tomorrow

A day at Kilkari Child Home. Amongst the session, a little girl of age 5 walked towards me. Her name was Savana. She tugged me and i kneeled to see what she had to show, a secret maybe she just wanted to share with me.

Her: "Sumit Bhayaa...come....Maggi Bhaya(She called me maggi bhaya), See. I got this at an occasion(Showing me the smiley Keychain.)...One of my favourite stuff."
Me: "This is very nice."
Her: "Hai naa".
Me: "Yes."
Her: "I want YOU to have this."

The moment was magic. Kilkari Child Home gave me moments for life. The smile, the zeal, and the amount of passion the children had could alone make you feel that there is something good to life. Maybe an individual's dreams are never theirs alone. There's always a story waiting to be a told, a dream to shine in its truest forms. Igniting Young Minds, in all its simplicity, a beautiful experience. #LEADERS FOR TOMORROW.

Experience at LFT

Child Labour, exploitation of child , is the curse given to our society by ourselves. It is the prime issue of concern which can change the scenario of the the country. Every child is born with the right to learn , to live, to express himself. But our cruel society is seizing their rights for their personal benefits or rather I could say for their greed.
Today, the child labour is banned verbally in paper,in the govt. laws. But the laws are given no real meanings. Today also a bunch of children are burning their future in small factories ,shops, household works, or even in begging. This is not merely degrading their future but the country's as well. The child labour exploit a child access to education,to think, to experiment,to grow with new thoughts and to get a platform for letting others know their talents.Today's children are the future of the country. If they are not nourished with good thoughts and education, then they could lead to a danger or a criminal part of society. So it should be given prime concern.
We should lead emphasis on every body's access over education. Different programs and camps for poor children's education should be there. These children should be provided with mid day meals in these programs. Strict  punishment should be given to those who are not following the laws. Join hand to eradicate this problem from our society.Come on..........
THE TIME TO TAKE ACTION IS NOW , BEFORE IT GETS TOO LATE.........

MY EXPERIENCE OF IYM (FIRST SESSION)

Yesterday, the first session of IYM was at KILKARI RAINBOW HOUSE,KASHMERE GATE.In this session, we were supposed to teach some moral values, build their confidence, impart them knowledge about some funny facts. To do this, we were given proper schedules.Since not being professional in teaching, I was a little bit nervous. When i saw the small and sweet
children being so friendly and their overwhelming nature, I lost all my hesitations and just became a part of them.Me and other 4 volunteers along with 7 other girls sat in a group and enjoyed a lot.Firstly,We all introduced ourselves to each other. I was very happy to know that those children were so talented, some in dance, some in painting, and a lot more.Secondly,we enacted a play of "The Small Rabbit" and taught them about the moral of the story. To make the session more interactive,we asked them for the English translations of some Hindi words and I was glad to see that they knew the English translations of most of the words we asked for.The problem they had was in spelling those words. So we discussed a lot of spellings together. Thirdly,we also discussed some of the fun facts with them and also gave the related information to them.Just to gather their interest a little more,we played it in the form of"KBC".I was amazed to see that those children were giving us more information related to some of the questions we asked them. When we asked them how they knew all these facts, they replied that they watch DISCOVERY CHANNEL regularly.
It was a great experience with these children. It was not only those children but I was also gained from this IYM sessions.I learnt how to dream high along with fighting with all the problems in life.

Leaders for Tomorrow

The leaders who work most effectively, it seems to me, never say “I.” And that’s not because they have trained themselves not to say “I.” They don’t think “I.” They think “we”; they think “team.” They understand their job to make the team function. They accept responsibility and don’t sidestep it, but “we” gets the credit. This is what creates trust, what enables you to get the task done. Leaders For Tomorrow is one such platform to create a national network of young leaders and change makers. I really feel proud to be associated with LFT. I have successfully been a part of every activity organised by LFT. I realised my potential of being a leader and motivate other people to do something good for the society.

Leaders for Tomorrow

Truly, it creates leaders, as the name suggests.
Just 4 months back, I joined this organisation, and I am learning things that counts to be a leader.  After my Youth Exchange Programme, since I was alone in my city, I learned that I have the potential to talk and convince at least 8 people at one go, I learned to organise the events single-handedly, I learned to coordinate with people I have never met, I learned to come out of my own cocoon, I leaned to break the ice for a conversation, I learned to not worry about the failure but to value the effort.  And above all, I learned to have faith in myself.  And these are the things I learned here. I salute it, for making me meet my potential.

all about Leaders for Tomorrow!

My experience as an lft member has been amazing. The events conducted by lft not only changed my outlook towards society but also my personality. The event adopt a plant encouraged me for growing more and more plants .The cleanliness drive has made me more aware towards the cleanliness of my surrounding. The book and cloth collection drive made help unprivileged children. I enjoyed a lot in every event as I got to learn many new things and had life changing experiences. The events that were organized by LFT made me realized that even small efforts can make a difference. Mahatma Gandhi had truly said “We must become the change we want to see”. I think that being an lft member I am doing the same thing. It feels great to be an lft member and doing your bit towards society. The best thing I like about lft that it inspires youth to contribute towards betterment of society and make it a better place to live.

LEADERS FOR TOMORROW is an organized NGO. It is a platform to polish youth to make them future leadrs.LFT conducts various events like clenathon, cloths n book collection drive, adopt a plant etc. Being a member of LFT, we duly participate in these events. In clenathon event we cleaned roads near our college. It was a great experience; we had a lot of fun.
We also attended skill development classes. This enables the students to develop    their personality, improve their speaking skills. They also teaches us how to improve body
Language.
Recently, we participated in cloth and book collection drive. It is an event in which we have to collect cloths, books and other useful materials to donate in orphanage or to poor children. We announced about this event and we got very good response. We personally also donated some books and cloths. I feel proud to be a part of this event as I feel that we are helping orphans in making their lives better.

Experience in LFT

Working in LFT (Leader’s For Tomorrow) as a member has been a great experience of my life. I learnt a lot of things and enjoyed from the events conducted by LFT in our college
The first event was “ADOPT A PLANT”. In this event I participated in OC(Organizing committee ). I and my two friends made a banner. The fun I had in making the banner was equivalent to the fun I had while planting small plants. It looked as if it was the first step of mine towards “Green Delhi”.
The second event was “Cleanliness Drive”. In this event also I participated in OC, made two posters. In this event, I in the group of 8 members cleaned a particular area, which was assigned to us by the event head. Initially picking up wrappers from roadside was embarrassing but after few minutes this embarrassment was overpowered by proud. I was proud to see “Clean Delhi”.
The third event was “Book And Cloth Collection Drive”. The feeling of collecting cloth, books, toys, bags etc. and even donating these things for small children was amazing. Helping small children to make their future worth better had been the best thing in my life I ever did.
There were few SDP (Skill Development) sessions organized by LFT for the members of LFT. I learnt and enjoyed a lot from these sessions. I learnt about different types of skills, Importance of teamwork, Importance of effective listening in a communication, what message your gestures convey to other people……..etc. . All these things will help me in the future in some or the other way round. Also there were different gaming exercises to boost up the confidence in me.
E.g.:-Intro, Group discussion session, Blind folded game………….etc.
Working of mine in LFT has benefitted me, environment and even other small children in some way. I love being a member of LFT.

Igniting Young Minds - The seven weeks experience i had with at the igniting young minds session cannot probably be expressed in words. I was just a fresher at college this year when i decided to join LFT. When my college co-ordinator told me about the IYM initiative I was highly motivated by it. I started continuously following all updates, attended meetings and instantly felt in love with the ideas and it evoked the social consciousness inside me. I had always wanted to do something but never really got the platform to do so, but LFT provided me with the platform. I was chosen to be the core team member for the Saket centre, Jamghat .The seven weeks I spent with those kids were one of the best days of my life and i mean it. No matter how bad your day was, but when you reached the centre and saw those kids eagerly running towards you and calling out our names, all the tiredness just vanished. It is amazing to see all the enthusiasm the kids have in them and the ability to learn in them. Most of us just take our studies as a burden, but it is so disheartening to see those kids wanting to learn so much, but most of them are not able to. I am glad that me and my team of volunteers could bring about a little change in their lives. We taught them stuff on personal hygiene, manners, spellings, some dance moves, played with them, read out stories to them and much more. All it took was one hour of all the volunteers and I would appreciate the enthusiasm of all volunteers who took out time and decided to make a difference in the lives of these kids. All I would like to say is seeing a smile on the faces of those children and the feeling of knowing that we made a difference in someone’s life is just priceless.

Adopt a Plant - We arranged ADAPT-adopt a plant in our college . Though we were not a large no. Of students who took the initiative and went on with it, but we were able to reach out to many. As the students saw us going towards the garden area with the plant saplings they did come and ask us what we were doing. We could proudly tell them about the initiative of LFT. From the gardener of our college to our watchman, we were able to attract their attention and they too helped us in planting those saplings. Though we were a small number of girls who went out to plant the saplings i can proudly say we could reach out to many students in our college, some of them did join our organization after seeing us work. Many of them in the college still recognize us by saying “oh you are the guys who were planting trees”. It is so nice to be recognized by the work we do.

Book Collection Drive - The book collection drive has been going in our college (kamala Nehru college) for about 10 days now. All the members made adequate efforts in publicising the events. Till now we have been able to collect about 150 books including secret seven series, harry potter series and many more. We are expecting about 50-60 more books as people have come up to us promising they would give more books. We will be going to some children’s home, where we were going for the IYM initiative and give those children the books. We are glad that we would be able to make a library for these children. Like they say every bit makes a difference, i would like to thank all donors who donated the books, you surely would bring a smile to someone’s face.

Youth Exchange Program - Today I attended the orientation meeting for the Youth exchange programme. I was introduced to my host in Lucknow and it was lovely interacting with her. I am really looking forward to the programme and taking LFT’s name to a different city. Every winter break i just sit at home and spend Christmas probably sitting and eating with my friends, but i am glad this Christmas breaks i would be give something to the society and spread social awareness amongst the students over there. It’s just been five months that I’ve joined LFT and i cannot believe we have already done so much. Really looking forward to YEP, and exploring the city of nawabs-lucknow!

Experience in LFT

One day my friend asked me to go to rajiv chowk for the meeting of an organisation and said that if you do the event you will get a certificate. I neglected it and went out with my friends elsewhere. But one of my friends went there and he told me what was the event(ADAR). I thought it’s a 10 days work let me do it and I will get a certificate. I did the event and each day thought should I also take membership of this NGO-LEADERS FOR TOMORROW? Then the  last day I took the membership thinking it is just a matter of 50 rs and will have fun with my friends during events and will aso get a certificate. The situation was such that I need to take a little responsibility and I became the head of LFT team in my college and when I was told my work I was in a state oh god why I have taken this responsibility and when other members didn’t showed their interest in the orientation class I started asking others to take this responsibility but no one agreed and to run this group in our college I said ok let me do it for this year now and next year il handle it to someone else or close the group. One of the other reasons for my this thinking was the comments by others and even my friends that “ isse to bas lft lft karalo, jab msg bhejega lft.”
Then came the time of organising ADAPT. After a lot difficulties we got the permission from college and even the funds to plant specific species of plants. Since the teachers day was also approaching, the college authorities asked to organise adapt along with teachers day function. Me and my friend Anuj took this responsibility and I divided the work to the OC members, to buy saplings, make posters etc. and even asked the college students to organise a play and a song for the function. Then came the turn to invite all the teachers, management authorities and the senior faculty like director etc. Although it was very tiring but I enjoyed it a lot as I got the opportunity to get myself recognised to everyone in the college and even could order the students which happened just because I was the head of LEADERS FOR TOMMOROW group in my college. This was the moment when I was happy to become head and handle responsibility and a power came that yes I can do it.
Then came the day of the event and it was a success and hearing from everyone, teachers, director as well students made me feel great.  Also planting trees made me internally feel good that I have done something nice which is not for my benefit. It was really a great day for me and a sweet memory for my life.
I again thanx LFT for giving me a platform(whose meaning I understood now).

Leaders For Tomorrow

I joined LFT in the latter half of last year and since joining the experience has been very good. Being a part of LFT has inculcated in me the sense of social responsibility and habit of being aware of things happening around and supporting good causes. Apart from this, I got opportunity to communicate with eminent personalities like Shashi Tharoor. LFT has taken out the leader in me by involving me in organizing major events like Development fest, ADAPT etc. Being a part of organizing these events helped me learn team work and improved my communication skills by giving the required exposure.

Leaders For Tomorrow

LFT gave me a platform to work with people of different fields and characters. it provide me a unique opportunity to be a leader to handle and organise social events for welfare of all human. Lft brought a marvellous change in my life and college also. Before Lft i was unable serve people with my friends but now all those never done anything to society are now working under many social cause.

Core Team of LFT

Archana Nair
Like many my age, when i stepped into college, i was sure of only 1 thing - that i wanted to do something different. I joined Leaders for Tomorrow because i felt i could test my limits here and understand my potential and all this while i do what i love - give back to society and make real social change.
I have been a part of Leaders for Tomorrow for a little over two years. In this short time i have been encouraged by my mentors and
leaders to try out responsibilities at the college level, zone level, state level and now national level. Not only i am participating in a movement intended to make real social change, i am discovering the leader in me through every challenge, task, meeting and activity. It is because i gain every second that i spend here that i continued by applying for the Leaders for Tomorrow Leadership Fellowship Programme - even after my college days. This was yet another platform for me to learn about India's development challenges and plan my role in its eradication, while enjoying incentives such as interacting with leaders and development professionals of our times.
It has been a beautiful journey for me. it taught me the importance of small things like reading the newspaper to bigger lessons in life of team work, honesty and sincerity and perseverance. I have greatly benefited from the exposure provided by the organisation, the most wonderful fact is that i grow as the organisation grows. It is with great sense of pride that i today look at the Core Team of Leaders for Tomorrow, our programmes that attract a lot of college students and help them do their bit for society in the most productive way.
I am extremely grateful to my team, all the members and patrons of Leaders for Tomorrow, for supporting our cause and stepping up to lead social change. Trust me, together we can and we will bring social change that will ignite the social conscience of youth across the country and globe. You can be the role model for all arm chair social workers, let's show them how it is done.
Wishing you readers the very best and hoping to see you in your programmes.

Leaders for tomorrow is just like a lightened lamp in someone’s gloomy life. It helped me to discover my hidden potential which i could never search out without being a part of LFT. LFT has an everlasting impression on my life. I can feel the difference in my personality from d day 1,i joined ,and now after being with LFT.

LFT has capacitated me with good leadership quality & fetched me with ability to persuade people and portray myself in society & developed a concern for society and consolidated my personality. It made me quite cognizant to social issues and showed me the best way to tackle them. It also increased my networking with leaps and bounds as it give us chance to meet many people, gives u opportunity to understand their view for society, and exchange your views, and in addition to this, it made me zealous in service of mankind.

I want to thanks LFT from bottom of my heart for making me a part of it for a very good cause. I hold my head my high being the part of LFT.

Leaders For Tomorrow organises meetings every Saturdays and one of the most motivational experiences I had initially was also from these meetings. I had attended very few meetings and it was my second or third meeting. Our founder, Mr. Binoy Job was present at the meeting and he asked all of us for new ideas that we would like to be implemented. Everyone had a different idea- blood donation camps, health awareness drives, mobile film making and a lot more. I was apprehensive as all I could think of was a very small proposal of having a Diwali celebration at an old age home or orphanage. But contrary to what I thought, the idea gained a lot of support and we decided that it should be executed. Our college did the event and all of the volunteers had a very nice time. We all felt that we had all actually spread joy during the festival. But knowing that a lot of other colleges also did the event that came up from my idea, gave me the confidence that even I could make a difference.

Leaders For Tomorrow is a finishing school where your raw and latent potential skills and talents are polished. it has given me an opportunity to lead, to network, and to inspire my friends to take up social action. My association with LFT has made me socially aware, to act rather than to give gyan, and to empathise rather than sympathise. I have learnt to have all the fun that a teenager can have and at the same time being socially sensitive. The few hours i spend with LFT every week, has been a big learning experience. The most important lesson I've learnt from my leaders is to stay rooted even when you achieve massive success.

More importantly, for a person like me and many others in the organistion, who have travelled more than 2000km to pursue our higher education, LFT has been a home away from home. The strength of friendship, the care you get, the affection each one shares, the feeling of togetherness, what not.....I just love my LFT family!!

I was introduced to this not for profit organization by one of my close friends. I came in with a lot of hope and loads of expectations and to my great shock and delight, I was not let down. This organization though run by the students and for the students does not lack any sense of professionalism, I was happy to see that young people like us, putting in their earnest effort to bring about a change in the sense of apathy prevailing in society today. The volunteer's hard work and earnestness inspired me to do my small bit.

I have been actively participating and contributing in every little way that I can ,since volunteering for this organization in May,2011 .The few months that I have spent under the umbrella of this organization have been very satisfying. I was given the opportunity to co ordinate among the various off campus colleges and I have thus come to appreciate what discipline and organization it takes to mobilize the youth of today. Not only has this opportunity given me the chance to work for society, but it has also provided me with a sense of belonging and a platform to build upon my personality and to push myself to further limits. Volunteering for Leaders For Tomorrow has not only taught me what actual leadership is all about, it has also made me into one

I joined leaders for tomorrow through ADAR campaign in my 2nd year

and it was a very informative experience for me and I learned many
skills which books could have taught me. after ADAR. I did many college level events like cleanliness drive, book collection drive, cloth collection drive.it generated a sense of initiating and inspiring other people. in my school time, I was not a talkative kind of person  but being in LFT have boosted up my confidence and now I can debate and also can do an extempore. After being in LFT for an year, it is now a family to me and I can not live a day without working and being involved in LFT there isn't any word by which I can thank LFT and the team for what I am now.

Manas Chitransh
Leaders for Tomorrow: A chance to learn, a place to grow
Mid July. College break. Just another boring day ahead. Or was it?
That morning I got a call from my friend Jayson. His exact words were “Bhai vella hai to ADAR ke liye kaam karega?” At that time I did not know what was ADAR or who were doing it but I took a plunge. And I’m glad that I did.
That day I went in for the orientation program for ADAR: Anti Drug Anti Ragging Campaign being organised across 100 campuses in Delhi-NCR by a youth based movement called “Leaders for Tomorrow”. I was surprised, shocked even, to see a handful of youth of my age handling such a huge initiative. Maybe that’s what leadership is all about, I thought, defying the odds. Anyway, I attended the session very gracefully taken by a charismatic speaker, Archana (I later came to know that she was heading LFT nationally…OMG !!) and by the time she was done I realised that I wanted to be a part of what these guys were doing, awakening the social conscience of today’s youth by providing them with a platform to channel their ideas for transformation and making THEM the agents of changes that they wanted to see around them.
So I there I was, proud to be a part of an organisation which actually fought for change and not only cribbed about what the govt. was doing (or not doing).
When ADAR kicked off, there were several institutions where there was a shortage of volunteers and an opportunity presented itself before me to work for LFT before actually trying it out in my college. I grabbed the chance to go to different colleges and see what was the general perception of the youth about a much talked about issue such as ragging and a much more sensitive issue of drug abuse. It was an “enlightening” experience to interact with people coming from diverse backgrounds having such varied opinions on both the issues. I gained some good friends and had great fun during the campaign but the biggest thing which I gained was – confidence. Confidence to speak to absolute strangers about stuff that concerns me and them but people are not willing to talk about, confidence to stand up for what I believed in even when heavily outnumbered and also what the power of conviction can do in such a short span of time!
The biggest realization of mine was that the residents of Youngistan were actually really aware of the issues of social importance and contrary to popular belief were willing to work to change the situation around them BUT they lacked a proper channel to do so. LFT provides exactly that, giving them the stage to come forward and take initiative for social action and make better citizens, more importantly better human beings out of them.
What impressed me most about LFT were their Social Action initiatives like ADAPT, ADAR, IYM, RFT and Visit for Compassion. I mean we all know deforestation is a problem but what do we do about it? ADAPT (ADopt A PlanT) gives us the chance to plant trees and change that. Similarly, lack of proper education in underprivileged classes is one of the biggest things stopping us from getting onto the highway of development. IYM (Igniting Young Minds) gives the better of us a chance to share the light of knowledge with the not so fortunate ones. In the same way ADAR aims at creating awareness about the ill effects of substance abuse and ragging in the campuses and RFT (Reporters For Tomorrow) provides a good channel for social journalism to bring to light the social issues around us.
What I found was that LFT is a multi-dimensional experience where you not only get a chance to change the way things are but also learn the art of managing a large and diverse group of people where volunteer spirit and a passion to restore our country to its once legendary state of glory is a common binding force. It is a highly professional organization that can unlock your hidden potentials and will help you to take these into any walk of life.
Truly, join us and became a Leader for Tomorrow!

LFT gave me the kind of exposure that I had been looking for. I learnt to organize, manage and most importantly lead. It was fun to work with likeminded people. My urge to contribute something to the society pushed me join LFT in the first place, and apart from all this I got recognition for my work which was needed at every step. At the end of it all ,I feel satisfied that I did not let my days in college get wasted and did something significant.

The Leaders For Tomorrow Initiative To bring the youth together on One platform ,where they can channelise their talents into something that Will leave A lasting and Enormous Impact on the Society and The world at large Is Not only a success In terms of the number of peolpe willing to join the cause, but also in terms of being able to 'Ignite Young Minds" to 'ADAPT'
a culture which helps develop not only Our own self but the members of the society as a whole. The following experiences of some of the members are a testimony of this enthralling fact:
The training workshop I attended at St Columbus was one of a kind.It induced in me a kind of responsibility and made me feel that I could do something to help out and reach other people like me.And in a way it was the first time in my 2 month old adult life that I actually felt like an adult!I have attended life skills workshops earlier but the training workshop gave me an insight into exactly the kind of preparation it goes in making these workshops successful. And I do hope that I can pass on even a fraction of the message I am supposed to pass on to  my college mates.I do hope to do the very best I can

Adapt a Plant..

This is to share how well Adapt'adopt a plant' was conducted in pgdav college.
the campaign kicked off sharp at 9.30 am with assembling of the members and volunteers in the college foyeur. The event was well-publicised,posters being put up at all the prominent places in the college silently hollering across the "go green" message. The campaign received an overwhelming response from the college owing to the preparations and efforts put in by the by the collegeHead Anuj nagpal and his squad.
the unit even came out with an innovative idea of tieing green ribbon around the wrist of the volunteers.Handmade Adapt badges prepared by the team members best exemplified the team's hardwork for the campaign.A help desk was set up in the college foyeur to create buzz about our 'Go Green' campaign and familiarise the college about LFT and our other campaign events. Moreover some unit members were even delegated task of class-to-class campaigning to muster more response and ignite interest in the agenda for which we 'the lft organisation' stands for.
this way ADAPT went on till 12 pm with participation of more than 30 people planting roughly 20 odd saplings.Although the number is not so impressive but the impact that ADAPT created in Pgdav is unmeasurable.During these 2 hours,20 people signed up as lft members, further fortifying the college unit.

ADAPT - Adapt A Plant

Leaders for tomorrow is a platform for today's youth to exchange ideas for social change and an opportunity for putting these ideas into action.
One such opportunity given to us was the ADAPT- Adopt a Plant.
LFT believes in creating social awareness and building social conscience. Environment protection in one such issue which was taken up by all the members enthusiastically.

Our first event was combined with the KMC team where all the volunteers turned up early morning at Kamla Nagar to start their planting of saplings in a park. We successfully planted around 50 saplings.
Keeping an aim of 25 saplings,SRCC members gathered again to continue our planting efforts at Roop Nagar.
It created a beautiful bond between us and the nature and the experience made all of us proud of ourselves. The sense of responsibility which has now been instilled in each one of us towards OUR environment has been achieved because of ADAPT.

Working with leaders for tomorrow has been a wonderful experience. It has provided me the right kind of exposure and has motivated me to think about the society. This is one platform from where I managed to gain the most, it has honed up my leadership skills, team work, and way of expression. This is one place which has given me the right opportunity to develop my skills. The entire experience has been very enriching and fulfilling.

Working for lft has been a great experience. It feels amazing to be a part of an organization which is doing its bit for the welfare of society. I am a part of igniting young minds( iym) and we had visited St. Joseph's orphanage at Azadpur recently. Interacting with the underprivileged kids there, was an overwhelming experience.
Lft has transformed me as an individual and has changed my perception towards life.
Overall, it has been a fulfilling experience for me and has helped me to think from different perspectives of life.

Well, for me, working for lft has been an enriching experience. LFT has been doing amazing work and its four programmes are quite beneficial for the people in general and for volunteers like me in particular. I am working as a volunteer for igniting young minds and it feels great to make a difference in the lives of underprivileged kids. Their work is commendable and it also gives me a sense of satisfaction. Then, i have also registered myself for the leadership summit which is going to happen in February. Apart from that, i am also enjoying working as a member of the organizing team for the skill development programme which will take place in mid- September 2011. So on the whole it was a fulfilling experience for me.

Leaders fir tomorrow - change makers for today ! Those who believe in making the world a better place to live in are called change makers. Those who work hard towards bringing about that change are perseverant. I am one of them and I already feel the change around me. LFT has taught me to find happiness in the smallest of the things , like planting a tree. After signing up with RFT I feel more aware of the things that have been happening around me and I understand how little things can affect us all. Also sending reports regularly has helped me improve my writing skills. Considering that I love writing, submitting reports is fun because it helps me analyze my writing
skills. I am also looking forward to attend The Leadership Summit because it'll give me a chance to put forward my opinions about current issues.
LFT is doing a great job by bringing together students from different universities under the same umbrella to join hands for a better tomorrow !
